Private workshop

Smelling Like another being

with Frank Bloem

In this workshop we explore the amazing smells that our natural world is rich of, by translating the odor of animals, insects, plants and bacteria into a perfume for humans.
Smelling like a cockle in the ocean, a sprouting stem of Japanese knotweed, or the floral smell of the pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria? It's all possible! Learn to combine scents from our extensive library to make a species perfume and spread the smell!

What you will do

In this workshop you will explore scents of other species, and become an animal, plant, fungi, mineral, or even bacteria! You will learn about the composition of perfumes using the vast range of scents in our open scent library. By mixing top, middle and base notes, you will compose your own 10 ml perfume to bring home. By the end of the workshop, you will have theoretical knowledge on the principles of perfuming, and you will bring home a smell that unlocks wonderful memories and discussions about the other species around us.
