MAPPA: Yael Davids 1994-2003

Special exhibition Yael Davids

16 Nov 2003
29 Feb 2004

MAPPA: Yael Davids 1994 – 2003 shows an overview of the artworks that Yael Davids (Israel, 1968) made in the last ten years.

With its solo exhibitions, Museum De Paviljoens provides space to Netherlands-based artists of international repute who have nevertheless had few opportunities for solo presentations in museums. MAPPA: Yael Davids 1994 – 2003 gave an overview of works by Yael Davids (Israel, 1968) over the past ten years. The design of the exhibition space, with its narrow (sub-)passageways and tightly circumscribed spaces, became an integral part of her work. The work entitled Music box was specially developed for this exhibition. On six Sunday afternoons, live performances brought the works to life.

The exhibition was mounted with the assistance of Fonds voor Beeldende Kunst, Vormgeving en Bouwkunst (Fund for Visual Art, Design and Architecture) (Amsterdam), Ypma Piano’s (Alkmaar) en MTS Audiovisueel (Zaandam).
