... working with contemporary artists at home and abroad

East Street Arts (ESA) is a contemporary arts organisation in Leeds, UK. Our mission is to focus on the development of artists through our events programme, professional development and studio/facility provision.
This is also where I work (Jon Wakeman) and as a co-founder have seen our organisation grow from 8 artists studios in 1993 to now house over 80 artists in 4 sites around Leeds. Patrick Studios is our main base, a £1.6 million pound redevelopment in 2004, with 30+ artists, project space, resource centre and social outlook.

We take a holistic approach to working with artists on a professional level to empower them to realise their potential. ESA operates three sites: Patrick Studios (ESA headquarters), Beaver and Barkston Studios and we also run a range of offsite projects.

On a regular basis, ESA invites you to get involved in our activities including artists’ talks, special events, cultural trips and exchanges, debates and publications by:
• coming along to our events
• joining our membership for increased access to ESA resources, facilities and special events
• sending in proposals for event and exhibiting opportunities
