The Lebanese Association for Plastic Arts

The Lebanese Association for Plastic Arts, Ashkal Alwan, is a non-profit arts organization based in Beirut, Lebanon. Ashkal Alwan aims to initiate and promote critical artistic practices and to document and build an archival record of contemporary intellectual and creative activity.

Since the launch of Ashkal Alwan in 1994, their activities have included a wide range of projects, from exhibitions, videos, lectures, performances and publications, to working in public spaces, creating networks and partnerships for reflection, dialogue and exchange. This is often done in collaboration with regional and international partners.

Ashkal Alwan organizes the recurring multidisciplinary cultural event 'Home Works: A Forum on Cultural Practices'.
