Smart Project Space presents a new solo exhibition by the french artist Matthieu Laurette (France, 1970, lives and works in Amsterdam, Paris and New York). Laurette's work explores the relationship between art, spectacle, media and economy.

For museum night Matthieu Laurette turns the gallery spaces of SPS into a series of cinema projection rooms in which a large selection of artist biopic films will be presented. Laurette is interested manner in which the life of an artist is mythologised: all films are biographical fiction feature films portraying the life of famous artists such as Bacon, Basquiat, Caravaggio, Dalí, Gauguin, van Gogh, Kahlo, Klimt, Amedeo Modigliani, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Rembrandt, Schiele, Johannes Vermeer, and Andy Warhol.
