Residency
During the nine days at Mediamatic, Cohene's research into the role scent plays into protest and civil disobedience continues with a hands-on component. At the experimental scent laboratory at Mediamatic during Art Olfaction Amsterdam, she creates a series of experimental scent formulas to act as neutralizers for scent-based crowd control methods such as ‘The Skunk’ and pepper spray.
Meet Aleesa
Are you interested in to critically examine the usages of scent? Or are you interested to learn what obstacles you encounter when diving into art and activism? The conversations with Aleesa are meant for anyone who has a special interest in scent and protest and artistic research. During the consults you will sit down with Aleesa Cohene to discuss your or her work, ideas and challenges. You can expect an honest talk filled with (unwanted) advice and original ideas. The conversations will take place at the restaurant of Mediamatic's Biotoop. A green location for some thorough thought exchange.
