Staplerfarher (NL)
Steffan de Turck has been a sound-artist since the nineties and lives and works in Tilburg, The Netherlands. In the early nineties he started creating “noise-machines” by circuit bending turntables, amplifiers, radios and other audio equipment. In 1995 he started out releasing his noise using the project-name “aMP”.
2003 saw a change of name into “staplerfahrer” that also meant a change in sound: less harsh rhythmic noise and more elements of microsound, field recording, drone and musique concrete. Since 2005, staplerfahrer has been performing extensively solo and with various groups all around Europe and in the USA.

Regular and occasional partners include Wouter Jaspers, Sasha Neudeck, Jan-M. Iversen, Sindre Bjerga, Bram Stadhouders, Jos Smolders, Dan Deacon, GX Jupitter Larsen, Tom Smith, Joke Lanz and Sigtryggur Berg Sigmarsson.
Festivals he performed at include NuMusic (NO), Ausklang (D), ZXZW (NL), November Music (NL), Zarata (ES), Sonic Circuits (USA), Incubate (NL), Šinafest (SLO) and SOTU (NL).
His music has been released by labels such as TIBProd. (NO), Striate Cortex (UK), 905 Tapes (USA), Heilskabaal Records (NL), Vatican Analog (NL), Moving Furniture (NL) and Korm Plastics (NL).

Robert Curgenven spans immersive resonances via turntables and custom-made vinyl, instrumental harmonics, pipe organ and tone generators through to carefully detailed field recordings from remote areas where he lived for many years. He draws on the physicality of sound – not just the physical impact on the body but the way in which the auditory can shape our perception of space and the flow of time. The Wire surmises that “behind the music lurks such [disparate] presences as Alvin Lucier, King Tubby, Murray Schafer and Eliane Radigue.” Over the past ten years Curgenven has performed at festivals and venues across Europe and Australia as well as releasing on labels such as LINE, The Tapeworm and Winds Measure.
