Currently, the pizza team is small, so you would be arriving at the dawn of this pizza journey by joining us. Experience working with dough would be appreciated – however, if you are a fast learner and committed to making great pizza, we will be sure to help you achieve this together. Working in a vegan restaurant, there is a lot of creativity when it's time to make pizza recipes. The menu is constantly evolving and improving with time: maybe you will be able to have your own recipe on the menu one day!
The job
This is a part-time position in which you would be in charge of preparing the dough from A to Z, following our process with the current pizza maker – from mixing the dough, shaping dough balls, to stretching, building and baking the pizzas in our wood fire oven. While the dough is resting and fermenting, you will prepare the sauces and toppings for the night shift and at pizza time, you will be next to the oven delivering tasty pizzas to hungry customers.
The place
Mediamatic ETEN is the restaurant of Mediamatic, an art centre that focuses on nature, biotechnology, art and science. The experimental spirit of our programs and installations reflect in our kitchen. We grow our own herbs and edible flowers, experiment with preservation techniques like fermenting and drying, and create unique dinner experiences that tickle the senses. That extends to the beverages served at ETEN, which include wild wines, botanical cocktails and locally crafted beer.
