The Truth of Basics, Resetting the History of Living between Four Walls

& M2/M3, a Graphical Intervention in Space

22 Oct 2008

'The Truth of Basics' advances that our interior is mainly influenced by our cultural tradition, closely related to our technical tradition. These two conceptions continue to live on rather firmly, not only because of commercial interest, but also because of insecurity of the unknown.

Departing from architecture, keeping in mind the four walls as a base, we propose to enhance a new notion of our interior. From an artistic point of view, we want to consider the consequences of the sphere of the installation, the totality of the scene, when creating an interior.

With: Gabriel Lester, Daniera ter Haar & Christoph Brach, Esther Stocker, Krijn Christiaansen & Cathelijne Montens, IJm studio, Thomas Bakker, Tejo Remy & Rene Veenhuizen, Sander Mulder, TTTVO, Maurer United Architects and Bob Copray.

Daniera ter Haar and Christofer Brach explain about their work m2/m3:
'm2/m3 is a search for space starting from the most simple ingredients. Space is shaped through surface, shadow, color and reflection. Because of the diversity of paper we consider it as our basic material. Using our self defined tools, sqaure, triangle, circle - cutting and folding, to transform 2D into 3D, an image of space is created.'

Opening on 22 October from 20:00-22:30 hrs. Exhibition can be visited on 23 and 24 October from 11:00-22:00 hrs or on 25 and 26 October from 11:00-18:00 hrs.
