Just another couple of chapters and Jyri finishes his phd. He’s spending most of his time on projects at NOKIA, but is currently busy with a start-up for a publishing service for making your own travel guide. Getting to know AnyMeta, the publishing system of Mediamatic was very relevant in that context. Jyri’s interest lies in connecting the real world with the online world. “We could actually do with much better tools???. But one step before that a lot of important developments in the domain of infrastructure and architecture need to take place, like unique id’s, but also google maps, and geo tags. The Thinglinks project of Ulla-Maaria Mutanen that enables people to create their own unique identifiers, is an excellent example of that. “So in this field I think that we are going to see a lot of developments the coming five years. I’m all about connecting physical to digital, it is not a good thing to sit in front of a computer all day, we need to get out, and do stuff!
