Lost Heaven

Authentic Yunnan Cuisine in the French Concession

On a small street (Gao You Lu) in the Former French Concession district of Shanghai, Lost Heaven is housed in a lovely Shanghai-1920's-style villa. On the ground floor of Lost Heaven is the bar and lounge area which is the perfect place for a mellow drink. The restaurant upstairs features a very high ceiling and a big buddha statue right in the middle of it all. The cusine features dishes from the areas of Dali, Lijiang, and Burma which include the foods of the Dai, Bai, and Miao ethnic minority groups. If you are not familiar with such foods, it is a bit similar to Thai food, with some Vietnamese thrown in and a dash of Sichuan spices. All you really need to know is that it is delicious!
