Planetart

PLANETART is an organization for the electronic arts that started in 1995 in Hengelo, in the east of the Netherlands. PLANETART initiates presentations of media-art, electronic music, performances, and releases print and music publications. Since 2007 PLANETART has a artspace/medialab in Amsterdam, and organizes an annual festival in the city of Enschede, called GOGBOT. Both the PLANETART medialab, artspace and Gogbot are important platforms for young media art in the Netherlands. PLANETART mainly are Kees de Groot and Viola van Alphen. The PLANETART productions, exhibitions, party's, drive-in cinema's, etc stand out for its daring and radical, somewhat underground, but definitely cutting edge approach.

PLANETART looks for new ways to use art to confront, to amaze and inspire. The yearly art music technology festival GOGBOT in Enschede is a broad event, in which multiple disciplines are combined to form a temporary and flexible environment within the existing spaces of the city, as a large and freely accessible part of the festival happens in the streets and squares of Enschede.
