BioTalk: Octopus Camouflage & Fungal Design

Wednesday May 14th. Food at 19:00, talks at 20:30

Can fungi digest plastic? Maurizio Montalti's Officina Corpuscoli explores the potential of mycelium to develop new materials. His work is trans-disciplinary, including science and research that addresses social and environmental themes from a creative perspective.

What can we learn from the octopus? Suzanne van Beest shows her fascination for transforming animal characteristics into design. For her graduation project she chose the Octopus. During her research she discovered that the most important function is its camouflage. This particular function is developed into her accessory product line called Wonderpus.

Join us for food and two talks about bio-based art, research and design on May 14th
