Yariv Alter Fin

During the dark days at the end of 2003 Yariv Alter Fin showed two projections at the Mediamatic Supermarkt.
He made Burn and The Kiss specifically for the holiday season.

Burn is a projection of a burning candle that is almost blown out by the wind repeatedly. It was lit on the shortest day of the year and burned from Christmas till New Year's Eve. As an extended holiday decoration it functions as a messenger of light, warmth and hope and reminds us of the vulnerability of the human spirit.

The Kiss was shown only on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. And leaves nothing to the imagination.

Yariv Alter Fin studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy and the Sandberg Institute. He worked for 'NL-design' and the 'Society for Old and New Media' on several projects and was a guest lecturer at the School of Arts at Kassel University until 2000. At this moment he works on several internet sites and 'net.art works' as an artist, designer and programmer and as a media consultant and lecturer at several art institutions.
