Transfigurations by Agi Haines - Bibuccalplasty - Extension of the cheeks can be achieved through expansion clips, once the clips are embedded in the cheek wall the skin and muscle can be stretched over a period of three months allowing fast and efficient caffeine absorption for a child entering a high stress career. The Masterclass

In this masterclass we’ll speculate on possibilities for modifications to the human body and imagine solutions to evolutionary and environmental problems. The full day program will start with idea-generating exercises and looking at inspirational materials for modification. After this we will start to design our own bodily solutions in a life casting course. You will learn how to quickly cast your own body parts with alginate and plaster and use these imprints to sculpt your modifications, transforming your speculative design into something physical.

This workshop is suitable for anyone who in interested in the design of the human body. No prior knowledge of (bio-)design or casting is necessary.

Unable to attend this masterclass? Join us next time, June 11.

Prototyping Bodies - Agi Haines (UK) uses the human body as everyday material in order to question our morbid curiosity for the viscera of life. By focusing on the design of this body she aims to push the boundaries on what is accepted within our society. In the masterclass Prototyping Bodies we speculate about the further possibilities for adjustments to the body and invent solutions for evolutionary and environmental problems. Lisanne Groenewoud
