Celebrating Otherness
An interview with Clemens Tomlow
We sat down with artist and costume designer, Clemens Tomlow , ahead of the a/Artist talk on the 15th of April to talk about his graduation project 'Monsters under the bed', his artistic journey
Hi! I'm Fern Ling Chettle (she/her), an Irish-Singaporean cultural programmer, editor and researcher raised in Bali, Indonesia. I'm passionate about storytelling that explores diverse histories, speculative futures, and the power of community. Since moving to Amsterdam in 2022, I've tried to immerse myself in the city's cultural scene as much as possible whilst completing my degree in Literary and Cultural Analysis at UvA.
I started as an intern at Mediamatic in the a/Artist project, where I had the opportunity to contribute to the monthly events, conduct interviews with artists and conduct research into neurodivergent community organising and artistic networks. After completing my internship, I stayed on at Mediamatic as a Programme assistant, primarily continuing my work on the a/Artist project. One of the big highlights of my time here was getting to work on Museumnacht 2023!
I am now working as a producer for CinemAsia Film Festival and as part of the editorial board at the UvA's Soapbox Journal for Cultural Analysis.
