David Byrne (*1952) is a singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, actor, writer, music theorist, visual artist and filmmaker best known as the lead singer of the band Talking Heads.

Bio

Byrne was born in Scotland in 1952, but moved to Canada and later US in his childhood. After highschool he moved to New York to study art, where he started a band with his friends Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth: the Talking Heads. After a while, the Talking Heads became very successful, releasing eight studio albums with hits like 'Psycho Killer', 'Burning Down the House' and 'Once in a Lifetime'. After the band dissolved, Byrne continued his career as a solo artist and released many more albums, most recently 'American Utopia' in 2018, which he also toured as a musical. He also professionally pursues a variety of other artistic endeavours such as filmmaking, writing, and drawing, and is an activist in support of increased cycling!
