Avatar is the biggest film of all time for a reason: it is a visually spectacular with amazing technical prowess’s that impressed many audiences. Avatar is storytelling and filmmaking on a massive scale that you cannot help but marvel at.
Primitive but highly advanced beings, the Na’vi, live on the alien world of Pandora. The planet’s atmosphere is poisonous so to allow free movement, human/Na’vi hybrids called Avatars link to human minds. Paralysed marine Jake Sully regains his mobility through becoming an Avatar and ends up falling in love with a Na’vi woman. As his bond with the Na’vi world grows, Jake is drawn into the battle for the survival of Pandora.
Yon Eta has a maximalist approach regarding sound while consciously striving to limit the options in the production process of his music. This the Hague-based artist runs the DEVORM imprint, a hybrid community challenging the form of AV releases. In his regular Red Light Radio shows and ‘Bar None presents’ clubevents he explores the past, present and future of club culture and pop music in a story telling manner. In recent years he has released audiovisual works in collaboration with FOAM, EYE Film Institute and Freeform Festival and performed at Sonic Acts festival, the Long Progress Bar festival (UK) and Amsterdam Dance Event. Yon Eta has won major awards at De Grote Prijs van Nederland (2010) and the Berlin Music Video Awards (2013).You can check out his music here.
