Kijk toe hoe Nadie Borggreve haar diep in de natuur gewortelde creaties maakt. Haar creaties lijken op gotische ramen: hoe ze naar boven kijken, naar de hemel; wol vervangt glas in lood, waardoor astrale formaties ontstaan. Borggreve speelt ook met de compositie van haar stukken, die ze ofwel fragmenteert ofwel als collages samenstelt.

Nadie Borggreve

Nadie Borggreve (1991) woont en werkt in Amsterdam. Ze studeerde aan de Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten (Den Haag) waar ze in 2016 de afdelingsprijs voor Textiel en Mode won. Na in modeontwerp te hebben gewerkt en deel te nemen aan een Noorse residency, is haar atelierpraktijk geëvolueerd naar beeldende kunst.

De kunstenaar past verschillende technieken toe: tuften, intarsia breien en een op maat gemaakt verfproces. Ze maakt haar eigen kleuren en verft haar wol met de hand. Levendige kleuren met een zeldzame diepte komen voort uit deze praktijk. De bron van haar ruwe materiaal is essentieel voor haar creatieve proces, dat zij beschouwt als een cyclische, spiegelende natuur. Ze verzamelt stof en draad die tweedehands of uit ongebruikte voorraden zijn. Goed gedragen kleding dient ook als hulpbron; ze ontrafelt ze om draad terug te krijgen. Door textiel opnieuw te gebruiken, probeert Borggreve hun geschiedenis te behouden en een dialoog tot stand te brengen tussen het geheugen van een object en de tastbaarheid ervan.
