Breakfast with Hildegard

with Tamara Last

Medieval abbess Hildegard von Bingen encouraged people to invite joy into daily routine through mindful rituals that addressed emotional challenges like brain-fog, rage, and forgetfulness. Start your day consciously: breath, chant, prepare, and enjoy a monastic breakfast using local herbs infused with intention. Join Tamara Last and experience what a progressive medieval abbess can offer the modern day.

What you will do

Start your Sunday inspired by Hildegard's holistic and prognostic self-care morning routine. Take a moment to awaken your consciousness through breathing and connecting to plants. Engage with the group through chanting, and then proceed to mindfully prepare and enjoy a communal monastic breakfast featuring six healing herbs explored for their practical use in daily life.

Tamara Last

Her emerging herbology practice is motivated by a desire to (re)connect adults with the wild and nurture in children a profound and gentle connection to the natural world. She integrates her work as a birth doula, a gardener, a cook, a craft-maker, a mother, an event organiser and an interdisciplinary social scientist. Foraging developed as an inevitable consequence of spending so much time with plants. The more untamed the plant, the more it called her attention.
