Is it possible to improve a lady's pee experience? Is it only a matter of product design? Or do we need to start looking into body-modifications and urinal-prosthetics? At Pis'talk: Public Intimacy designers Bettina Möllring and Agi Haines will speculate on the perfect woman's urinal. From gender-issues to questions relating to intimacy and privacy. The topic of tonight's edition of Pis' Talk will also be the starting point for our second Pissing in the Park masterclass. Talks begin at 20:30 Tickets / Facebook

Bettina Möllring

The topic of toilets and urinals plays a central role in Bettina's work. Examining the bathroom complex from different aspects, her work also reflects on socio-cultural questions – for example, by connecting the design and approachability of toilets to the question of how society deals with essential needs of men and women, and how we can react to that on an objective level. Besides her work as a designer, Bettina Möllring is a professor of industrial design principles at the Muthesius Kunsthochschule, having also taught in Berlin, Essen and Singapore. What do we actually need from public spaces? What demands should be given preference in order to make public sanitary spaces comfortable for as many people as possible? These are some of the questions we will discuss together tonight.

Sitting and squatting positions.

Agi Haines

Agi Haines’ work is focused on the design of the human body. How might people respond to the possibilities of our body as another everyday material and how far can we push our malleable bodies while still being accepted by society? With regards to intimacy, gender differences and cultural norms Agi re-imagines how we might improve our future selves. What strategy would you choose to overcome shame and privacy issues? Would you modify your body to connect it better with the urban planning of the city?
