Genevieve Murphy (*1988) is a composer and performer from Scotland, currently based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

She combines performance and visual art with contemporary classical music and her concepts are frequently based around psychology and disability. 

Genevieve obtained her Bachelor of Music from the Birmingham Conservatoire before receiving a Masters in Composition at The Royal Conservatory of The Hague in 2013. 

Her compositions have been performed internationally in a variety of concert halls and art galleries such as the Concertgebouw and Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam, La Fenice (Venice), and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (Glasgow) to name just a few. 

Her most recent work is the hour-long solo performance composition 'I don't want to be an individual all on my own', which she premiered in 2020.

Genevieve's work is both deeply personal and curiously playful, exploring the multitudes of inner worlds and ambiguities contained in each person and mediated in any social interaction.
