Arcade Workshops

March 24 and 25. Two workshops: Pixel-Art for Games and Nintendo DS Brut.

We will be organizing two workshops in the closing days of the Arcade exhibition. In the Pixel-Art for Games workshop you will learn how to make a pixelated avatar of yourself, your grandmother or the mean guy next door. Feeling a tad more rebellious? Hack your Nintendo DS during the DS Brut workshop. From 10:00 to 17:00.

Pixel-Art workshop

Pixel-Art is a form of digital art, created using raster graphics software. Basically, you edit and construct images pixel by pixel. Pixelmaster Paul Veer will help you design your own pixelated avatar or image using a raster graphics editor (either Pixen for Mac OSX users or GraphicsGale for Window users). Depending on how fast you work, there might very well be time to animate your little avatar as well! Click here to navigate to the workshop page.

DS Brut workshop

DS Brut is an open source hardware prototyping platform for the Nintendo DS, developed by and for electronics enthusiasts, artists and game developers. By connecting the Nintendo DS to the outer world, the game console can easily be hooked up to a variety of sensors (e.g. GPS receivers) and can be used to control all different kinds of actuators, servo motors etc. Click here to read more about the workshop.
