This workshop for filmmakers will take place February 5 - 9, 2004. Workshop results will be presented on the 10th at the Festival Forum.

Digital interactive media open up new possibilities in storytelling. This workshop is about exploring these in a very practical way.

With an international group of authors you will design your own project and build a working prototype..

In the process, participants will study the specific possibilities offered and questions raised by non-linear storytelling: How does one maintain tension in a non-linear story? How can the viewers' actions be integrated meaningfully into the narrative? What does it mean to replace the absolute cut with the possible link?

As practical research tool, participants will use the Korsakow System. You can work with your own footage or use our material. No special technical knowledge is required: technical assistants will be present throughout the sessions, which will be conducted in English.

If you are a film- or TV-maker, interested in participating in this workshop send e-mail to korsakow@mediamatic.net
The (closed) workshop sessions will be held at the UdK (Berlin Univerity for the Arts) 10 minutes from Potsdamer Platz, the Berlinale main venue.

The participation fee is Euro 350 which includes lunches and an accreditation to the Festival.
