SKIF++, LORE, MJO/SC3

A STEIM concert

23 Nov 2005
  • 20:00 -23:00
  • STEIM
  • Utrechtsedwarsstraat 134, Amsterdam

SuperCollider, LiSa, Max/MSP, OfficeR, and more multi capitalized words will pass the bill. Some kicking music for kicking people.

LORE is a project by Dorothea Krishnabhakdi and Stefan Löhr. Sounds from every day life are edited whilst attempting to preserve the fascinating richness and quality of sampled sounds. They will be spreading the sound over a multispeaker setting using self-developed software based on Max/MSP and Super Collider.

SKIF
Jeff Carey (laptop SuperCollider) and Robert van Heumen (laptop LiSa) are the electronic backbone of the electroacoustic sextet OfficeR that brings structured improvisation in a very unique way. As SKIF they work with similar structures, ranging from sonic bursts to melodic melancholy and back, using joysticks and selfmade controllers to keep it all in line (most of the time). SKIF++ is the cooperation of SKIF and Bas van Koolwijk's processing of the SKIF-sound into video. He will also add the occasional hum.

MJO/SC3
Together with Jeff Carey, percussionist/drummer Morten J. Olsen (known from OfficeR, Ultralyd and Pho) developed a way to add an electronic flavor to his drumkit, using contact mics and Super Collider. Expect sharp-edged but subtle percussion, One Man and his Kit.
