Masterclass: Prototyping Bodies with Agi Haines

Saturday Feb. 6 10:00 - 18:00

Design the 'future' you in a masterclass with bio-artist Agi Haines (winner 2015 BAD award). Through biomedical and healthcare sciences we have stitched and stretched the body into formats with completely differing purposes. In this masterclass we’ll speculate on further possibilities for modifications and imagine bodily solutions to evolutionary and environmental problems.

Incl. Materials, coffee and tea.
Special discount for students (50%) and freelancers (30%)

About the workshop

The full day program will start with idea generating exercises and inspirational materials regarding modification. After which we will start to design our own bodily solutions in a life casting course. You will learn how to quickly cast your own bodyparts with alginate and plaster and use these imprints to sculpt your modifications. By doing so you will gain insight in how to transform your speculative design to physical object.

How whom?

This workshop is suitable for everyone who in interested in the design of the human body. No prior knowledge of (bio-)design or casting necessary.
