New Order: AIDS-3D Artist Talk

Nik Kosmas and Daniel Keller

20 Jul 2011

AIDS-3D flirt with the utopian elements of both fine art and new technologies. Their recent work plays with our contemporary conceptions of the value of art, the value of value, the energy of value, and the power of those networks in our society where value exchange takes place. The talk will be presented and moderated by artist Katja Novitskova. Please RSVP!

New Order

The AIDS-3D artist talk is the first event in preparation for New Order, a Mediamatic exhibition that will explore scenarios and consequences of a post carbon future, energy independence, and green social order. A number of cutting edge and emerging artists, designers and visionaries will be invited to share ideas and make new work. New Order is due to open in December of 2011 at Mediamatic BANK. New Order is curated by Katja Novitskova and Rory Hyde.

AIDS-3D

AIDS-3D is an artist duo consisting of USA-born, but Berlin-based Nik Kosmas and Daniel Keller. They have a solo exhibition opening on July 22nd at NIMK, followed by a party at Westergasfabriek. The following day the two artists will do a presentation and touch down at Mediamatic for a fireside chat.

AIDS-3D present solar panels as expensive luxury art objects; they use holography, lasers and other technologies to create works that are beautiful, tacky and highly contemporary. The duo has acquired a rapid success both in the world of institutional visual arts and online following. Their work and research into the domains of energy and value exchange has been one of the inspirations for New Order.
