Visit Performance #9 by The Paper Ensemble and you'll be convinced. The intriguing music and dance performance is created for one dancer and one gigantic piece of paper. Together they investigate the musical possibilities of the material and their surroundings.

The Paper Ensemble

The Paper-Ensemble is a music ensemble founded by Jochem van Tol for up to 4 players and a series of paper instruments that emerged from 2 years of research with the main question: “What are the musical possibilities of paper, and is it possible to make sounds that speak to the imagination?” “Could paper also except all noise produce tones?” The result is a serie of five instruments:
