Finissage Pending Xenophora

Mari Bastashevski investigated how we can collaborate with snails. Based on, and working with, a group of garden snails, she created Pending Xenophora, a VR installation where you can hang out with digital snails.

On September 4, she will share the insights she gained during her residency.
Jordan Sand, the designer of the sound world for Pending Xenophora, will give a live electroacoustic performance, weaving the voices of the 70 individual VR snails into a voluminous chorus in dialogue with her own voice and instrument.

Jordan Sand

Jordan Sand is componist, bassist en vocalist. In haar werken weeft ze zang met de orgel-achtige klanken van viool of contrabas. Ze woont en werkt momenteel in Trondheim, Noorwegen, waar ze als muzikant in residentie en promovendus aan de Noorse Universiteit voor Wetenschap en Technologie (NTNU) nieuwe muziek maakt voor de ruwe meerstemmigheid van haar instrument.
