Do you need help repairing your clothes or other textile items? Tired of throwing away clothes with minor tears or snags? At our Textile Repair Cafe, you can give your favorite garments a new lease on life! We bring together people like you who want to fix their clothes instead of tossing them out. Our skilled volunteers will be happy to guide you through the repair process. Learn valuable mending skills you can use for future repairs!

Here's how it works

Bring new life to your loved ones! At the Textile Repair Cafe, we can help you breathe new life into your favorite clothes, bags, and textiles. Whether it's a hole, rip, missing button, or anything else in need of some love and attention, our skilled volunteers are happy to guide you through the repair process. You will save money by extending the life of your clothes, and reduce textile waste and contribute to a more sustainable future. Plus, you'll gain valuable skills for future repairs!

We offer services for:

Repairing clothes and bags:

  • Mending tears, rips, and holes
  • Replacing buttons, zippers, and snaps
  • Resizing garments (taking in or letting out)
  • Shortening hems or sleeves
  • Repairing seams
  • Replacing worn out linings or waistbands
  • Darning socks or sweaters

Upcycling old textile items:

  • Transforming old clothes into new garments
  • Creating new accessories from scrap fabrics
  • Adding embellishments or embroidery to existing clothes
  • Repurposing old textiles for home decor

No ticket needed

Join us! There's no ticket needed, so come by, enjoy the company, and give your textiles a second chance!

Conny smiling while knitting - Knit for Survival! In our knitting workshop, Conny (right) is  laughing while trying to knit a sweater for herself. Knitting for Survival is a workshop that seeks to help Ukraine by teaching people how to knit sweaters to reduce our gas dependency on Russia. Knitting doesn't have to be hard. In our knitting sessions, our guests did not need to be an experienced needle worker at all. They were provide beginner tools and instructions next to the most advanced and experienced coaching by Vita Buivid, Conny… Andrea Valdivia
