Open Costume Lab

11 May 2022

We are hosting an Open Costume Lab where we invite fashion designers, artists and complete beginners, to make costumes of the amazing species from our ecosystem. In the Open Costume Lab we support you to make a costume, offering a place for experimentation and design research on how to mimic various species in fabric and other materials.

Open Costume Lab - every Wednesday 14:00 till 18:00.

Creating costumes in the Open Costume Lab - With Kristin Maurer At Dutch Design Week 2021 we are hosting an open costume lab where participants are creating amazing costumes from species in our ego system, while hopefully becoming more aware of the biodiversity of our planet.     Caroline Aravicius

Do you feel lost - and don’t know where to start? We are collecting DIY Instructables and research questions that can help you to begin with your costume. From creating an octopus dress, making mineral sensory bags to mimic bacteria to questions like: Are you invisible to humans? Hibernating? Throwing off your colours in spring? Jumping around?

Or get inspired by Fred’s research story on how to transform into Magnesium.
